Emma Martin has been a working Artist for over a decade, holds a First Class Degree and a Masters Degree in Fine Art, has exhibited in a number of group and solo shows, and has work in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.

Her work is rooted in fond memories of childhood story books. Although her paintings aren’t illustrations, the small scale works she produces harness an illustrative language and employ an unfinished narrative. The images and symbols they contain relate to personal memory and myth, but also provide ignition points for viewers to build their own stories around.

In addition to her painting practice, Emma has recently founded Art-Mantic, a project designed to creak open the studio doors of artists of all backgrounds, and give audiences an insight into the thoughts around their creative practices through short filmed conversations. This project can be accessed, and Emma can be contacted, via the Art-Mantic website.
